Jiu-Jitsu Class Kick Off! It's Official Now!
Before the class started, we had installed the timer above the mirror. It's just a timer I often see during jiu-jitsu training, but today it felt different. Anyway, I grabbed the remote control and clicked all buttons for figuring out how to use.
While waiting for a long time and preparing, we started the jiu-jitsu class in Peachtree City on September 5, 2023, at 7:40 PM. We had been running a free trial promotion for the past month, and some teenagers and adults signed up and showed up today!
We warmed up with some jiu-jitsu drills. All the participants, despite feeling a bit awkward, followed along and had fun. When we tried to do Egg-Beaters alone, most of them struggled doing it. So we paired up a partner and did it together. Also, we did shrimping too.
Now it was finally time to learn some jiu-jitsu techniques. Since most students were new to jiu-jitsu class, we started with some simple an escape and a sweep. Our first lesson was the Elbow Escape, which teaches how to make or escape from an opponent was on top of you. Next, we learned the Him Bump Sweep. This technique allows you to change positions with your opponent after escaping with the Elbow Escape. Initially, everyone found it a bit awkward to move their bodies, but as time went on, we adapted and could practice with enjoyment and safety.
"Don't hesitate. You can learn Jiu-Jitsu easily and safely. You can too."
